Additional learning support

At our school, we ensure every student is ready to learn. We support students with disability and additional learning needs so they can take part in all areas of school life. You do not need a formal diagnosis for your child to receive support in a mainstream class. Support can begin at any stage of school.

Support that fits your child's needs

Some students need extra support to feel confident and do their best at school. We work closely with families to make support plans and adjustments  that suits each child’s needs.

Additional learning support can include:

Adjustments are planned with parents and carers. They are reviewed regularly and changed when needed.  If you think your child may need extra help, contact us.

Senior Student Seriousnees Tracking and Support

Homebush Boys High School is committed to supporting senior students in Years 11 and 12 to achieve success through enhanced focus, commitment, and self-management. To this end, our school has implemented a Senior Student Seriousness Tracking and Support initiative designed to promote effective study habits and monitor student engagement.

At the start of Year 11, students participate in an "Adjusting to Senior School" program, gaining valuable study skills and setting personal learning goals aligned with school expectations. Throughout the year, student seriousness will be tracked every five weeks, using attendance records, assessment results, effort grades, and teacher feedback to assess commitment levels.

Students are classified into seriousness levels—green, yellow, or red—to tailor support and encourage continuous improvement. This proactive approach ensures that all senior students receive the guidance and motivation needed to excel in their senior years. The initiative began implementation in Term 2, 2025, starting with Year 11 students. Details can be found here.
