Our extra-curricular highlights
Breakfast Club
At Homebush Boys High School we have a dynamic Wellbeing Team that cares for and support our students. One of the Wellbeing initiatives is our Breakfast Club which operates 3 mornings a week, between 7.45 and 8.30 am. Student volunteers, under the supervision of staff, make toasties, set up tables of orange juice and muesli bars. All students are welcome to enjoy breakfast. The Breakfast Club operates out of the Board Room near the front entrance on Tuesday and Thursday. And out of the Inclusive Education on Wednesdays. As well, the Fig Tree Café is operated by students every morning. The students are trained baristas, and they sell coffee, milk shakes and hot chocolates.
Grade Sport
Homebush Boys High School is a founding member of the North West Sports Zone. The zone currently has schools that compete in various sporting competitions in two seasons – Summer (between August and February) and Winter (between March and July). The other schools that compete in the zone are Ashfield Boys High School, Asquith Boys High School, Epping Boys High School, Normanhurst Boys High School and North Sydney Boys High School. Students can try out for their sport of choice each season. The grade sports include cricket, league tag, tennis, basketball, badminton and ultimate frisbee in summer. And winter grade sports include soccer, tennis and volleyball
Interact Club
The Interact Club is a student-led service club that is supported by Strathfield Rotary Club. It is a platform for young men to take action in the form of volunteering at local events, raising money for important causes and creating projects that bring real change both locally and globally. Students in the Interact Club build leadership and teamwork skills, work on exciting community service projects and meet like-minded students who care about making a difference. Each year the Interact Club members help causes that support the environment, mental health and help reduce poverty. It is a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community. The club meets Monday lunchtime.
