Homework Help
The Homework Help program will operate in the Library, after school on each Monday and Tuesday of the school year, for 1 hour (3:10-4:10pm). A supervising teacher will be present at each session.
Homework Help is available for:
· students of any Year group, wishing to do homework or private study;
· students seeking additional literacy or numeracy support (some of these will have been referred to the program).
Attending students will have access to Library facilities, including computers. Additional literacy and numeracy resources will also be located in a box in the Library, for use during Homework Help, and literacy/numeracy assistance available from the supervising teacher. A student attendance register will be maintained, which will include times of arrival and departure.
Students attending on a particular afternoon do not have to stay for the entire time, but do need to record their times of attendance. All attending students are expected to be productively engaged in work or activities connected with their schoolwork (no video games!). Those who are not, will be asked to leave.
If, at odd times, Homework Help cannot run on a given day, a sign to this effect will be placed on the Library door, and the Office informed.
The program will be advertised through school newsletters, on the school website, and through various poster-displays. At its launch, each year, assembly announcements will also be made.
